Bible Verses about 'Sake'

If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.
If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.
If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
You are my rock and my fortress. For the honor of your name, lead me out of this danger. For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me.
If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Help us, O God of our salvation! Help us for the glory of your name. Save us and forgive our sins for the honor of your name.Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of your name; deliver us, and atone for our sins, for your name's sake!
God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness. Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!
“Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.”Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.”
But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled.
God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake.
Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord.Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!
Let your favor shine on your servant. In your unfailing love, rescue me.Make your face shine on your servant; save me in your steadfast love!
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man.Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man!
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.
We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.
But in your great mercy, you did not destroy them completely or abandon them forever. What a gracious and merciful God you are!Nevertheless, in your great mercies you did not make an end of them or forsake them, for you are a gracious and merciful God.
I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live.I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account.
Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
