- Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
- This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
- Yahweh is my light and my salvation.
Whom shall I fear?
Yahweh is the strength of my life.
Of whom shall I be afraid? - For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword,
neither did their own arm save them;
but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face,
because you were favorable to them. - Commit your way to Yahweh.
Trust also in him, and he will do this:
he will make your righteousness shine out like light,
and your justice as the noon day sun. - “Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil.
- Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
- Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the way.
- I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.
- If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.
- For so has the Lord commanded us, saying,
‘I have set you as a light for the Gentiles,
that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’ - For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory.
- But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
- Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
- For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?
- For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.
- The earth is Yahweh’s, with its fullness;
the world, and those who dwell in it. - You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
- Go your way—eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already accepted your works.
- For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s.
- Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth.
- Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
- I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go.
I will counsel you with my eye on you. - When he has come, he will convict the world about sin, about righteousness, and about judgment.
- But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
