Chinese (traditional)Bible Verses about 'Self control'
- He that hath no rule over his own spirit
is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
- And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
- Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
- For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
- And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
- He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. - Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.
- For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God.
- For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
- For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
- But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
- For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
- Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
- A fool uttereth all his mind:
but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. - He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding:
but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. - But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
- In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
- So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
- He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life:
but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction. - For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
- For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
- If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
- Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you. The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him,
to all that call upon him in truth.Next verse! With image
