- Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
- The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. - He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding:
but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly. - He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty;
and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. - And rend your heart,
and not your garments,
and turn unto the Lord your God:
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and of great kindness,
and repenteth him of the evil. - The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power,
and will not at all acquit the wicked:
the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm,
and the clouds are the dust of his feet. - The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
- Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
He only is my rock and my salvation:
he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
