Son (2/3)

  • In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
  • He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
  • He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?
  • By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him.
  • For God so loved the world, that he gave his only born Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
  • Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.
  • You shall consider in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you.
  • No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.
  • Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin will conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
  • For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.
  • But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
  • He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God.
  • The angel said to her, “Don’t be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a son, and shall name him ‘Jesus.’”
  • Therefore, as for you, let that remain in you which you heard from the beginning. If that which you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son, and in the Father.
  • Who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love, in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.
  • Don’t work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him.
  • He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil.
  • While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
  • The Word became flesh and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
  • My son, attend to my words.
Turn your ear to my sayings.
Let them not depart from your eyes.
Keep them in the center of your heart.
  • The multitudes who went in front of him, and those who followed, kept shouting, “Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
  • My son, don’t forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments,
for they will add to you length of days,
    years of life, and peace.
  • Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in that which is to come.
  • For a child is born to us. A son is given to us; and the government will be on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
  • The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the holy one who is born from you will be called the Son of God.”

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself up for me.
