For I am merciful, says the Lord;

you did not completely destroy them,
nor did you forsake them,
for you are a gracious and merciful God. - Likewise, you who are husbands must show consideration for your wives in your life together. Treat your wife with respect, for even though she is the weaker partner, she is also an equal heir of God’s gift of life. Thus, your prayers will not be hindered in any way.
- Not to us, O Lord, not to us,
but to your name give glory
because of your kindness and faithfulness. - My soul longs for you throughout the night,
and my spirit within me seeks your presence.
For when your judgments are revealed to the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn to practice justice. - Let your face shine upon your servant;
save me in your kindness. - Blessed are you when people hate you and ostracize you, when they insult you and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man.
- What god can compare with you,
the God who takes away guilt
and forgives the transgressions
of the remnant of your people?
You will not allow your anger to fester forever,
for your delight is in bestowing mercy. - Therefore, accept one another for the glory of God, just as Christ has accepted you.
- Protect me, O God,
for in you I take refuge.
