- In the same way, there is joy in the presence of God’s angels when even one sinner repents.
- For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
- And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no lodging available for them.

beautiful in every way. - There are “friends” who destroy each other,
but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. - Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins.
- But for us,
There is one God, the Father,
by whom all things were created,
and for whom we live.
And there is one Lord, Jesus Christ,
through whom all things were created,
and through whom we live. - So remember this and keep it firmly in mind: The Lord is God both in heaven and on earth, and there is no other.
- In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.
- So, what about eating meat that has been offered to idols? Well, we all know that an idol is not really a god and that there is only one God.
- But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.
- Work brings profit,
but mere talk leads to poverty! - Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.
- I have been the Lord your God
ever since I brought you out of Egypt.
You must acknowledge no God but me,
for there is no other savior. - The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.
- But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
- You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.
- “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”
- Whom have I in heaven but you?
I desire you more than anything on earth. - In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!
- O God, you are my God;
I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
where there is no water. - And a great road will go through that once deserted land.
It will be named the Highway of Holiness.
Evil-minded people will never travel on it.
It will be only for those who walk in God’s ways;
fools will never walk there. - God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?
- The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.
- There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
- This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
- Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’
- So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.
- So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
- They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them.
- Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.
- Moses remained there on the mountain with the Lord forty days and forty nights. In all that time he ate no bread and drank no water. And the Lord wrote the terms of the covenant—the Ten Commandments—on the stone tablets.
- Anyone who wants to serve me must follow me, because my servants must be where I am. And the Father will honor anyone who serves me.
- Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,
and there are no grapes on the vines;
even though the olive crop fails,
and the fields lie empty and barren;
even though the flocks die in the fields,
and the cattle barns are empty,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord!
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! - Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain. Stay there, and I will give you the tablets of stone on which I have inscribed the instructions and commands so you can teach the people.”
- You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord. - I will bless my people and their homes around my holy hill. And in the proper season I will send the showers they need. There will be showers of blessing.
