Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. | Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. |
He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. | Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost. |

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. | For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. |
He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. | Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. |
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. | And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. |
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. | Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) |
Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? | Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? |
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” | Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. |
These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. | But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. |
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. | Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. |
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. | For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. |
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. | For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. |
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. | Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. |
The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad. | This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. |
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. | In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. |
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. | Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. |
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. | Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. |
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? | Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? |
You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. | He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. |
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. | And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. |
Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. | Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. |
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. | And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. |
Till the Spirit is poured on us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field, and the fertile field seems like a forest. | Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest. |
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. | Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. |
For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.” | For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. |
