| As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him; He is excellent in power, In judgment and abundant justice; He does not oppress. | We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty; but even though he is just and righteous, he does not destroy us. |

And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. |

| And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you. | And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows. |
| We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other. | Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing. |
| For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. | For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. |
| But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ. | Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. |
