But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Remember that you were once slaves in Egypt, but the Lord your God brought you out with his strong hand and powerful arm. Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Don’t long for “the good old days.” This is not wise.Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?” For it is not wise to ask such questions.
And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.Fight the good fight of the faith. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins!Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
