| If anyone is rich in worldly possessions and sees a brother in need but refuses to open his heart, how can the love of God abide in him? | But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him? |
| However, whoever lives by the truth comes to the light so that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been done in God. | But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God. |

| And whoever does not provide for relatives, especially for those who are living with him, has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. | But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. |

| One who forgives a misdeed fosters friendship, but he who divulges it separates good friends. | One who conceals an offense seeks love, But one who repeats a matter separates close friends. |

| One who finds a wife finds happiness and receives favor from the Lord. | He who finds a wife finds a good thing And obtains favor from the Lord. |
| Jesus answered him, “Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.” | Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will follow My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him.” |
| A generous person will be enriched; he who refreshes others will also be refreshed. | A generous person will be prosperous, And one who gives others plenty of water will himself be given plenty. |
| Like a city that has been breached and made defenseless is the man devoid of self-control. | Like a city that is broken into and without walls So is a person who has no self-control over his spirit. |
| Jesus replied, “Amen, amen, I say to you, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.” | Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.” |
| Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it. | Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. |
