- A highway will be there, a roadway,
And it will be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean will not travel on it,
But it will be for the one who walks that way,
And fools will not wander on it. - The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright,
But ruin to the workers of injustice. - Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment.
- We have sinned, we have done wrong, and acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.
- Stand firm therefore, having belted your waist with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having strapped on your feet the preparation of the gospel of peace; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
- Do not envy a violent person,
And do not choose any of his ways.
For the devious are an abomination to the Lord;
But He is intimate with the upright. - For I will be merciful toward their wrongdoings,
And their sins I will no longer remember. - Do not lie to one another, since you stripped off the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self, which is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created it.
- Ill-gotten gains do not benefit,
But righteousness rescues from death. - One who walks in integrity walks securely,
But one who perverts his ways will be found out. - Therefore you have no excuse, you foolish person, everyone of you who passes judgment; for in that matter in which you judge someone else, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
- So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
- Therefore, ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
