Wisdom to help (3/4)

Do not withhold kindness from anyone to whom it is due when it is in your power to grant it.Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
Surely God is my helper; the Lord is the one who sustains me.Behold, God is my helper. The Lord is the one who sustains my soul.
The righteous call out, and the Lord hears them; he rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord remains close to the brokenhearted, and he saves those whose spirit is crushed. The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
For God would not be so unjust as to ignore your work and the love that you have shown for his name by the services you have rendered to the saints and still continue to render. For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the labor of love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.
Hear my prayer, O Lord; do not be deaf to my cry or ignore my weeping. For I am a wayfarer before you, a nomad like all my ancestors.Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and give ear to my cry. Don’t be silent at my tears. For I am a stranger with you, a foreigner, as all my fathers were.
When riches increase, so do those who are eager to accumulate them, and those who have accumulated them must remain content simply to feast their eyes on them. When goods increase, those who eat them are increased; and what advantage is there to its owner, except to feast on them with his eyes?
And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I wish to make another creature who will be like him.”Yahweh God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
I lifted up my voice in prayer to him; his praise was on my tongue.I cried to him with my mouth. He was extolled with my tongue.
If anyone is rich in worldly possessions and sees a brother in need but refuses to open his heart, how can the love of God abide in him?But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
Each of us must consider his neighbor’s good for the purpose of building him up.Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, to be building him up.
Two are better than one: they earn a far greater reward for their toil. Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.
O Lord, you are kind and forgiving, filled with kindness for all who cry to you.For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you.
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their cry.Yahweh’s eyes are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry.
Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cries of supplication.Out of the depths I have cried to you, Yahweh. Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.
Riches will be of no avail on the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
And learn to do good. Pursue justice and rescue the oppressed; listen to the plea of the orphan and defend the widow.Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow.
But as for me, I will look to the Lord. I place my hope in God my savior; my God will hear me.But as for me, I will look to Yahweh. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me.
Keep falsehood and lying far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but simply provide me with the food that I need.Remove far from me falsehood and lies. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food that is needful for me.
For the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to the entire human race. It teaches us to reject godless ways and worldly desires, and in the present age to lead lives that are temperate, just, and godly. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age.
What right do you have to pass judgment on someone else’s servant? The master will determine whether that servant will stand or fall. But the servant will be upheld, for the Lord has the power to enable him to stand.Who are you who judge another’s servant? To his own lord he stands or falls. Yes, he will be made to stand, for God has power to make him stand.
But even so the Lord is waiting to be gracious to you, and he will rise up to grant you his compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. Therefore Yahweh will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for Yahweh is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.
May the God of perseverance and encouragement grant that you may live in harmony with one another, following in the example of Jesus Christ. Now the God of perseverance and of encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus.
Brethren, we must always give thanks to God for you, and it is only right that we do so. For your faith grows ever more, and the love that all of you have for one another continues to increase. We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another abounds.
I was eager to respond to those who did not consult me. I was anxious to be approached by those who did not seek me. I said, “Here I am! Here I am!” to a nation that did not summon me.I am inquired of by those who didn’t ask. I am found by those who didn’t seek me. I said, ‘See me, see me,’ to a nation that was not called by my name.
For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, to the end that you may be established; that is, that I with you may be encouraged in you, each of us by the other’s faith, both yours and mine.

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
