Bible Verses about 'Worth'

  • The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
    the heart of the wicked is of little worth.
  • For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
  • And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
  • An excellent wife who can find?
    She is far more precious than jewels.
  • If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.
  • Bear fruit in keeping with repentance.
  • But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
  • Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
  • Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
    and his greatness is unsearchable.
  • Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
  • Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
  • For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?
  • For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.
  • And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
  • Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
    but righteousness delivers from death.
  • This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.
  • Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
  • But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
  • Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret.
  • You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet.
  • The law of the Lord is perfect,
    reviving the soul;
    the testimony of the Lord is sure,
    making wise the simple.
  • Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
  • God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.
  • Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
  • For the customs of the peoples are vanity.
    A tree from the forest is cut down
    and worked with an axe by the hands of a craftsman.
    They decorate it with silver and gold;
    they fasten it with hammer and nails
    so that it cannot move.
    Their idols are like scarecrows in a cucumber field,
    and they cannot speak;
    they have to be carried,
    for they cannot walk.
    Do not be afraid of them,
    for they cannot do evil,
    neither is it in them to do good.

Bible verse of the day

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
