But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.Above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear—not by heaven or by earth or by anything else. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart.“If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the Lord Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me.”
With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.My soul yearns for you in the night; in the morning my spirit longs for you. When your judgments come upon the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.
I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.
God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.
Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
