- The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
- And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments.
His praise endures forever. - O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water. - You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
- But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”
- I, even I, am He who comforts you.
Who are you that you should be afraid
Of a man who will die,
And of the son of a man who will be made like grass? - Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
- Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
- You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
- Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.
- The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit,
A broken and a contrite heart—
These, O God, You will not despise. - Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
- There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
- “Now therefore,” he said, “put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to the Lord God of Israel.”
- Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
- A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones. - Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
- But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
- Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.
- Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
- The generous soul will be made rich,
And he who waters will also be watered himself. - A man has joy by the answer of his mouth,
And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!
