- Indeed, it is seldom that anyone will die for a just person, although perhaps for a good person someone might be willing to die. Thus, God proved his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
- You are all-beautiful, my love,
without the slightest blemish. - You are a place of refuge for me;
you preserve me from trouble
and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah - Through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves in Christ.
- Yet even so, because of your great compassion,
you did not completely destroy them,
nor did you forsake them,
for you are a gracious and merciful God. - If you are angry, do not sin. Do not let the sun set on your anger, and do not give the devil an opening.
- But you are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people claimed by God as his own possession,” so that you may proclaim the praise of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
- Even though I wander
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are at my side,
with your rod and your staff
that comfort me. - If your brother wrongs you, go and take up the matter with him when the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over.
- If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person. For the temple of God is holy, and you are that temple.
- Where can I go to hide from your spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to the heavens, you are there;
if I take my rest in the netherworld, you are also there. - But you, O Lord, are a shield to protect me;
you are my glory and the one who raises my head high. - I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - A good man produces good from the store of goodness in his heart, whereas an evil man produces evil from the store of evil within him. For the mouth speaks from the abundance of the heart.
- A generous person will be enriched;
he who refreshes others will also be refreshed. - And now, brethren, I want to remind you of the gospel I proclaimed to you, which you received and in which you stand firm. Through it you are also being saved, provided that you are holding fast to what I proclaimed to you. If not, then you have believed in vain.
- Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with a joy that is indescribable and glorious. For you are achieving the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.
- Behold, I am standing at the door, knocking. If one of you hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with that person and that person with me.
- There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free man, there is no longer male or female. For all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
- For you are aware that you were ransomed from your futile way of life inherited from your ancestors not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
- You are my refuge and my shield;
I put my hope in your word. - You have already been cleansed
by the word I have spoken to you. - Now who is going to harm you if you are eager to do what is right?
- For we are God’s coworkers; you are God’s field, God’s building.
- Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked. A person will reap only what he sows.
And so does kindness, O Lord.
You reward each person
in accordance with his deeds.Not because of any righteous deeds on our part
but because of his mercy,
he saved us through the bath of rebirth
and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.Next verse!With image
