Yours, O Lord, are greatness, power, glory, strength, and majesty, for everything in heaven and on earth is yours. Yours, O Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. | Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. |
So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. | Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. |
|
For I am longing to see you so that I may bestow on you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— or, rather, so that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. | For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. |
Abba, Father, for you all things are possible. Take this cup from me. Yet not my will but yours be done. | Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. |
May mercy, peace, and love be granted you in abundance. | Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. |
Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it. | Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. |
And my God will fully supply all your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. | But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. |
To the loyal, you show yourself to be loyal; to the blameless, you show yourself to be blameless. | With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful; with an upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright. |
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. | Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. |
Be mindful, O Lord, that mercy and kindness have been yours from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth or my many transgressions, but remember me in your kindness, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord. | Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O Lord. |
Then Peter asked, “Ananias, why has Satan so gained control of your heart that you lied to the Holy Spirit and retained part of the sale price of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not belong to you? And after it was sold, were not the proceeds yours? What caused you to contrive this scheme? You have lied not to men but to God.” | But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. |
The second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ | And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. |
Wash yourselves and become clean; remove your evil deeds far from my sight. Cease to do evil. | Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil. |
Do not make gods from silver or from gold instead of me. You will not make them for yourselves. | Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold. |
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vanity, but humbly regard others as better than yourselves. | Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. |
Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the proper time he may exalt you. | Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. |
However, you, dear friends, must build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God as you await our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy, who will grant you eternal life. | But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. |
Love one another with genuine affection. Esteem others more highly than yourself. | Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another. |
And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. | And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. |
Do not wear yourself out in the pursuit of wealth, and cease even to think about it. | Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. |
Through the grace that God has bestowed upon me, I advise every one of you not to think of yourself too highly, but to regard yourself objectively, based on the measure of faith that God has granted. | For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. |
Let your attitude be identical to that of Christ Jesus. | Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. |
Those of you who seek to be justified by the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from grace. | Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. |
He who called you is holy. Therefore, be holy yourselves in all your conduct. For Scripture says, “Be holy, for I am holy.” | But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. |
Do not store up treasures for yourselves on earth, where they will be destroyed by moth and rust and where thieves break in and steal. Rather, store up treasure for yourselves in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves cannot break in and steal. | Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. |
