- Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled. - You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love to all who call to you. - Since you are my rock and my fortress,

the Lord loves the righteous. - God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

- Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. - ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
- Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long. - This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing.
