- When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

- He lays up sound wisdom for the upright.
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. - Yahweh bless you, and keep you.
Yahweh make his face to shine on you,
and be gracious to you.
Yahweh lift up his face toward you,
and give you peace. - Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal.
- But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’
- For the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity,
whose name is Holy, says:
“I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit,
to revive the spirit of the humble,
and to revive the heart of the contrite.” - He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. They ate and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
- Yahweh makes poor and makes rich.
He brings low, he also lifts up. - I will lift up my eyes to the hills.
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from Yahweh,
who made heaven and earth. - He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?
- Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind.
Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down.
Yahweh loves the righteous. - But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ.
- He called the multitude to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
- But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength.
They will mount up with wings like eagles.
They will run, and not be weary.
They will walk, and not faint. - Train up a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not depart from it. - But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. - For you will light my lamp, Yahweh.
My God will light up my darkness. - Oh how great is your goodness,
which you have laid up for those who fear you,
which you have worked for those who take refuge in you,
before the sons of men! - Because your loving kindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise you.
So I will bless you while I live.
I will lift up my hands in your name. - Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.
