Bible Verses about 'Burdens be lifted up'

  • Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
  • Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him:
    but the just shall live by his faith.
  • And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
  • And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

  • Is not this the fast that I have chosen?
    to loose the bands of wickedness,
    to undo the heavy burdens,
    and to let the oppressed go free,
    and that ye break every yoke?
  • I cried unto him with my mouth,
    and he was extolled with my tongue.
  • And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
  • Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
  • According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
  • Hatred stirreth up strifes:
    but love covereth all sins.
  • Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand:
    forget not the humble.
  • Cast thy burden upon the Lord,
    and he shall sustain thee:
    he shall never suffer
    the righteous to be moved.
  • He healeth the broken in heart,
    and bindeth up their wounds.
  • For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
  • When I said, My foot slippeth;
    thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.
  • A soft answer turneth away wrath:
    but grievous words stir up anger.
  • And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
  • When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
  • So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
  • Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
  • For thus saith the high and lofty One
    that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy;
    I dwell in the high and holy place,
    with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit,
    to revive the spirit of the humble,
    and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
  • The vine is dried up,
    and the fig tree languisheth;
    the pomegranate tree,
    the palm tree also,
    and the apple tree,
    even all the trees of the field, are withered:
    because joy is withered away
    from the sons of men.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
