- Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but those who counsel peace have joy. - Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips
and from deceitful tongues. - Then keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from telling lies. - Then he went on, “It is what comes out of a person that defiles. For from within, from the human heart, come evil thoughts, unchastity, theft, murder, adultery, avarice, malice, deceit, indecency, envy, slander, arrogance, and folly. All these evils come from within, and they defile a person.”
- For:
“If anyone wishes to love life
and to experience good days,
he must restrain his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn away from evil and do good,
seek peace and pursue it.” - Put on the armor of God so that you will be able to stand firm against the deceit of the devil.
- Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting,
but the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. - The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but worldly cares and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit.
- A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
but an undisciplined tongue crushes the spirit. - The heart is more deceitful than any other thing,
and it is also perverse.
Who can uncover its secrets?
I, the Lord, search the heart
and probe the mind
to reward all according to their conduct
and as their deeds deserve. - Turn away from the mouth that deceives
and keep your distance from lips that mislead. - He is a rock, his deeds are perfect,
and all of his ways are just.
He is a God of truth who does no wrong;
he is just and upright. - The labors of the wicked man produce little profit,
but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
Blessed are you when people hate you and ostracize you, when they insult you and denounce your name as evil on account of the Son of Man. Bear with one another, and forgive one another if anyone has reason to be offended with another. You must forgive just as the Lord has forgiven you.Next verse! With image
