- Jesus addressed them once again, saying,
“I am the light of the world.
The one who follows me
will never walk in darkness.
Rather, he will have the light of life.” - And every tongue should proclaim
to the glory of God the Father:
Jesus Christ is Lord. - I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
Whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh, for the life of the world. - Let us never grow weary in doing what is right, for if we do not give up, we will reap our harvest in due time.
- Because in my eyes you are precious,
because you are honored and I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you
and nations in return for your life. - Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. The measure that you use for others will be used to measure you.
- The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord shine his face upon you and be gracious to you.
The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace. - I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. Now waiting for me is the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day—and not only to me, but to all those who have eagerly longed for his appearance.
- I give them eternal life,
and they will never perish.
No one will ever snatch them from my hand.
My Father who has given them to me
is greater than all,
and no one can snatch them
out of the Father’s hand.
I and the Father are one. - Never will I forget your commands,
for through them you have given me life. - For I resolved that, while I was with you, I would know nothing except Jesus Christ—and him crucified.
- And my God will fully supply all your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
- From that day forward Jesus began to proclaim the message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is close at hand.”
- And eternal life is this:
to know you,
the only true God,
and the one you have sent,
Jesus Christ. - Jesus then said to her,
“I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me,
even though he dies, will live,
and everyone who lives
and believes in me
will never die.
Do you believe this?” - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
- May the Lord grant strength to his people.
May the Lord bless his people with peace. - Therefore, now that we have been justified by faith, we are at peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
- Jesus looked at them and said, “For men this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.”
- I tell you that on the day of judgment people will have to render an account for every careless word they utter.
- Jesus replied,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can see the kingdom of God
without being born from above.” - But our citizenship is in heaven, and from there we await our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Rather, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and allow no opportunity for the flesh to gratify its sinful desires.
- But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near through the blood of Christ.
