The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot. | The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot. |
The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way. | The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. |
The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the heart of the wicked is of little worth. | The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. |
Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence. | Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. |
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverse. | The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. |
The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. | The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. |
The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish. | The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. |
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. | Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. |
The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. | The Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous. |
O you who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked. | Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. |
