- Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.
- Taste and see that the Lord is good;
How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! - Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
For His faithfulness is everlasting. - Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
- Then you will discern righteousness, justice,
And integrity, and every good path. - A joyful heart is good medicine,
But a broken spirit dries up the bones. - For He has satisfied the thirsty soul,
And He has filled the hungry soul with what is good. - Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brothers to live together in unity! - He who finds a wife finds a good thing
And obtains favor from the Lord. - The Lord is good,
A stronghold in the day of trouble,
And He knows those who take refuge in Him. - But examine everything; hold firmly to that which is good, abstain from every form of evil.
- The young lions do without and suffer hunger;
But they who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing. - Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor.
- For,
“The one who desires life, to love and see good days,
Must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.
He must turn away from evil and do good;
He must seek peace and pursue it.” - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
When it is in your power to do it. - For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all who call upon You. - Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”
- How much more valuable then is a person than a sheep! So then, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.
- A good name is to be more desired than great wealth;
Favor is better than silver and gold. - Seek good and not evil, so that you may live;
And so may the Lord God of armies be with you,
Just as you have said! - Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. - Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life.”
- Anxiety in a person’s heart weighs it down,
But a good word makes it glad. - Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.
- No one is to seek his own advantage, but rather that of his neighbor.
