| A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. | One who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, But one who is trustworthy conceals a matter. |
| A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends. | A perverse person spreads strife, And a slanderer separates close friends. |

| The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. | The words of a gossiper are like dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts of the body. |
| He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. | One who walks with integrity, practices righteousness, And speaks truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, Nor do evil to his neighbor, Nor bring shame on his friend. |
| Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. | Let no unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for edification according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear. |
| An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered. | With his mouth the godless person destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be rescued. |
| He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. | One who conceals hatred has lying lips, And one who spreads slander is a fool. |
| Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. | Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. |
| Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. | Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? | Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. | Realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and worldly, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, homosexuals, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted. |
