- With my whole heart I have sought you.
Don’t let me wander from your commandments. - I will give thanks to Yahweh with my whole heart.
I will tell of all your marvelous works. - I have taken your testimonies as a heritage forever,
for they are the joy of my heart. - Go your way—eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already accepted your works.
- Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God. - You may say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?” When a prophet speaks in Yahweh’s name, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You shall not be afraid of him.
- I will give thanks to you with uprightness of heart,
when I learn your righteous judgments. - Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
- Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a right spirit within me. - Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
- Yahweh is my strength and my shield.
My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped.
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices.
With my song I will thank him. - Like water reflects a face,
so a man’s heart reflects the man. - It is well with the man who deals graciously and lends.
He will maintain his cause in judgment. - A cheerful heart makes good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life. - And to love him with all the heart, with all the understanding, all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
- Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down,
but a kind word makes it glad. - For most certainly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and doesn’t doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is happening, he shall have whatever he says.
- But I trust in your loving kindness.
My heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to Yahweh,
because he has been good to me. - Search me, God, and know my heart.
Try me, and know my thoughts.
See if there is any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the everlasting way. - Blessed are those who keep his statutes,
who seek him with their whole heart. - But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.
- The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit.
O God, you will not despise a broken and contrite heart. - Your word is a lamp to my feet,
and a light for my path.
