- “Peace be with you,” Jesus said to them again.
“As the Father has sent me,
so I send you.” - Then Jesus said to him,
“You have come to believe
because you have seen me.
Blessed are those who have not seen
and yet have come to believe.” - In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. - Through him all things came into existence,
and without him there was nothing.
That which came to be. - The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has been unable to overcome it. - However, to those who did accept him
and who believed in his name
he granted the power to become children of God. - And the Word became flesh
and dwelt among us.
And we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father’s only Son,
full of grace and truth. - No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
who has made him known. - I myself did not know him,
but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me,
‘The one on whom you see the Spirit descend and rest
is the one who is to baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ - Jesus replied,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can see the kingdom of God
without being born from above.” - Jesus said,
“Amen, amen, I say to you,
no one can enter the kingdom of God
unless he is born of water and the Spirit.” - What is born of the flesh is flesh,
and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. - For God so loved the world
that he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
may not perish
but may attain eternal life. - For God did not send his Son into the world
to condemn the world
but in order that the world might be saved through him. - Whoever believes in him is not condemned,
but whoever does not believe in him
already stands condemned,
because he has not believed in the name
of the only-begotten Son of God. - However, whoever lives by the truth
comes to the light
so that it may be clearly seen
that his deeds have been done in God. - He must increase;
I must decrease. - Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life;
whoever does not believe in the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God rests upon him. - But whoever drinks the water that I will give him
will never be thirsty.
The water that I will give him
will become a spring of water within him
welling up to eternal life. - God is Spirit,
and those who worship him
must worship in Spirit and truth. - Do not work for food that perishes
but for the food that endures for eternal life,
which the Son of Man will give you.
For it is on him
that God the Father has set his seal. - Jesus replied,
“This is the work of God:
to believe in the one whom he has sent.” - Jesus answered them,
“I am the bread of life.
Whoever comes to me will never be hungry,
and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” - I am the living bread that came down from heaven.
Whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh, for the life of the world. - Whoever feeds upon my flesh and drinks my blood
dwells in me and I dwell in him.
Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so whoever feeds upon me will live because of me.But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for I bring you good news of great joy for all the people.” You who abide in the shelter of the Most High,
who rest in the shadow of the Almighty,
say to the Lord, “You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I place my trust.”Next verse! With image
