John (4/4)

  • In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.
  • If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  • But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God.
  • We know love by this, that he laid down his life for us—and we ought to lay down our lives for one another.
  • This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all.
  • If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
  • Very truly, I tell you, whoever receives one whom I send receives me; and whoever receives me receives him who sent me.
  • Very truly, I tell you, servants are not greater than their master, nor are messengers greater than the one who sent them.
  • In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
  • On the last day of the festival, the great day, while Jesus was standing there, he cried out, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me.”
  • Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”
  • God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him.
  • Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor.
  • Little children, you are from God, and have conquered them; for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
  • Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but must endure God's wrath.
  • I am the vine, you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit, because apart from me you can do nothing.
  • Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
  • For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.
  • I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
  • And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he is revealed we may have confidence and not be put to shame before him at his coming.
  • I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.
  • How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
  • So we have known and believe the love that God has for us.
God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them.
  • Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
  • And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth.
