- Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
- But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.
- Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
- Let your eyes look directly forward,
and your gaze be straight before you. - Let all that you do be done in love.
- If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
- Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. - Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth! - Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
- But let justice roll down like waters,
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. - Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
- In you, O Lord, do I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
in your righteousness deliver me! - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
- Keep steady my steps according to your promise,
and let no iniquity get dominion over me. - You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
- Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
- Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
- In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?
- But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
- For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.
- Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth! - Do not forsake your friend and your father's friend,
and do not go to your brother's house in the day of your calamity.
Better is a neighbor who is near
than a brother who is far away. - The prudent sees danger and hides himself,
but the simple go on and suffer for it. - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
