Bible Verses about 'Life after death'

The tongue has the power over life and death; those who cherish it will enjoy its fruits.Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
The desires of the flesh result in death, but the desires of the Spirit result in life and peace. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Treasures obtained by wicked means profit nothing, but a righteous life brings delivery from death.Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law.The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of it leads to death. There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Hence, as sin’s reign resulted in death, so the grace of God also might reign through righteousness resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Riches will be of no avail on the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be poured out for you.”Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more certain it is that, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Then, after completing their fasting and prayer, they laid their hands on them and sent them off.And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.
Hence, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For since death came into the world through a man, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a man.For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Repent and live! For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
Then, after he had spoken to them, the Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven, and there he took his place at the right hand of God.So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
Rather, I discipline my body and bring it under control, for fear that after preaching to others I myself may be disqualified. But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
After you have suffered for a brief period, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and support you.But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
After he said this, he was lifted up as they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
All I want is to come to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share in his sufferings by becoming conformed to his death. That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
Such godly sorrow results in repentance that leads to salvation and causes no regret, whereas worldly sorrow produces death. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Whoever possesses the Son possesses life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not possess life.He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
I baptize you with water for repentance, but the one who is coming after me is more powerful than I am. I am not worthy to carry his sandals.
