- No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a pot or places it under a bed. Rather he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light.

but an undisciplined tongue crushes the spirit. - Hope deferred sickens the heart,
but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. - For this reason, he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who have been called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since his death has served to redeem the sins that were committed under the first covenant.
- As a deer longs for running streams,
so my soul longs for you, O God. - A wealthy man pays a ransom to save his life;
a poor man never has to worry about such threats. - Blessed be the Lord, day after day,
the God of our salvation, who carries our burden. Selah - While physical training has some value, the benefits of godliness are unlimited, since it holds out promise not only for this life but also for the life to come.
- It is the Lord, your God, whom you are to follow. You must fear him and observe his commandments and obey what he tells you and serve him and hold fast to him.
- Guard your heart with all possible vigilance,
for from it flow the wellsprings of life. - Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self that is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
- Therefore, heed my words. Do not be concerned about your life and what you will have to eat or drink, or about your body and what you will wear. Surely life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
- Whoever heeds admonition is on the path to life,
but anyone who rejects correction goes astray. - Jesus replied,
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life.
