- Love is patient;

neither does it brood over setbacks. - This is what love is:
not that we have loved God,
but that he loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. - Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
- The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

and sees a brother in need
but refuses to open his heart,
how can the love of God abide in him? - With all humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another in a spirit of love.
- Such hope will not be doomed to disappointment, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
- You are all-beautiful, my love,
without the slightest blemish. - He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
