- I shall forgive them for their wicked deeds,
and I shall remember their sins no more. - Above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth, or use any oaths at all. Let your “Yes” mean “Yes” and your “No” mean “No.” Otherwise you may be condemned.
- No one has ever seen God.
It is the only Son, God,
who is at the Father’s side,
who has made him known. - No one has ever seen God,
but if we love one another,
God abides in us,
and his love is made complete in us. - Even though the fig tree does not blossom
and there is no fruit on the vines,
even though the olive crop will fail
and the orchards will yield no food,
even though the flock is cut off from the fold
and there is no herd in the stalls,
I will continue to rejoice in the Lord,
and exult in the God of my salvation. - How great you are, Lord God! There is no one like you, and there is no God except you alone, as everything that we have heard confirms.
- The blessing of the Lord is what brings wealth,
and our toil adds nothing to it. - When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulfilling it, for God has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill the vow you have made.
- Love cannot result in any harm to the neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfillment of the Law.
- This is the message
that we have heard from him
and that we declare to you:
God is light,
and there is no darkness at all in him. - Indeed, under the Law almost everything is purified by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
- And just as no human being comprehends any person’s innermost being except the person’s own spirit within him, so also no one comprehends what pertains to God except the Spirit of God.
- The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.
- Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
- I give them eternal life,
and they will never perish.
No one will ever snatch them from my hand.
My Father who has given them to me
is greater than all,
and no one can snatch them
out of the Father’s hand.
I and the Father are one. - All this has been done by God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and entrusted us with the ministry of reconciliation.
- There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free man, there is no longer male or female. For all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
- Dearly beloved, never seek revenge. Leave that to the time of retribution. For it is written, “Vengeance is mine, says the Lord. I will repay.”
- Rather, put on the Lord Jesus Christ and allow no opportunity for the flesh to gratify its sinful desires.
- I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - No, throughout all these things we are conquerors because of him who loved us.
- For no one can be regarded as justified in the sight of God by keeping the Law. The Law brings only the consciousness of sin.
- In love there is no fear;
indeed, perfect love casts out fear,
because fear has to do with punishment,
and whoever fears
has not yet achieved perfection in love. - No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a pot or places it under a bed. Rather he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light.
- Even though I wander
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are at my side,
with your rod and your staff
that comfort me.
For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so too do we believe that God will bring forth with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. This is what love is:
not that we have loved God,
but that he loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. Let us remain firm in the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.Next verse! With image
