Our thoughts (3/4)

  • The Lord commanded us to observe all of these statutes and to fear the Lord, our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, even as we are today.
  • Finally, brethren, let your minds be filled with whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, whatever is excellent, whatever is worthy of praise.
  • There is no holy one like the Lord,
    there is none beside you,
nor is there a rock like our God.
  • For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • Therefore, now that we have been justified by faith, we are at peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • God is faithful, and it is by him that you have been called into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
  • Then the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
  • Do not worry about anything, but present your needs to God in prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. Then the peace of God, which is beyond all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
  • This is what love is:
not that we have loved God,
    but that he loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.
  • Prepare in advance what you want to say,
    and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Take away all guilt
and give us what is good,
so that we may present as offerings
    the bullocks from our stalls.”
  • As we proceed in the path of your judgments,
    we wait for you, O Lord;
    your name and your renown
are all that our heart desires.
  • For everyone born of God
    conquers the world.
And the victory that conquers the world
    is our faith.
  • For ‘In him we live and move and have our being.’ As even your own poets have said, ‘We are all his offspring.’
  • Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercy and the God of all consolation. He consoles us in all our afflictions and thereby enables us to console others in their tribulations, offering them the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.
  • Rather, grow in the grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for all eternity. Amen.
  • The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
  • Let us remain firm in the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.
  • In Christ
    and through his blood
    we have redemption
and the forgiveness of our sins.
In accord with the riches of his grace.
  • Jesus answered him,
“Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him
and make our abode with him.”
  • I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation to know him.
  • For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so too, through Christ, do we receive our consolation.
  • Such hope will not be doomed to disappointment, because the love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
  • Blessed be the God,
and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in Christ
with every spiritual blessing in the heavens.
  • This is how you should pray:
    ‘Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name.
    Your kingdom come.
    Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.’
  • He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live in righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

Our temporary light afflictions are preparing for us an incomparable weight of eternal glory.
