- Oh, how great is Your goodness,
Which You have laid up for those who fear You,
Which You have prepared for those who trust in You
In the presence of the sons of men! - Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
- But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
- When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”
- He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. - Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men! - And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you.
- But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints.
- Open your mouth for the speechless,
In the cause of all who are appointed to die. - But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
- He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will be destroyed. - Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering.
- Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. - For the customs of the peoples are futile;
For one cuts a tree from the forest,
The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
They decorate it with silver and gold;
They fasten it with nails and hammers
So that it will not topple.
They are upright, like a palm tree,
And they cannot speak;
They must be carried,
Because they cannot go by themselves.
Do not be afraid of them,
For they cannot do evil,
Nor can they do any good. - With my soul I have desired You in the night,
Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early;
For when Your judgments are in the earth,
The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. - For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
- Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
- But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
- But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
- Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
- The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.
- All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify.
- Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips
And from a deceitful tongue. - I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God.
- And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
