- By day the Lord commands his steadfast love,
and at night his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life. - Hear my prayer, O Lord;
give ear to my supplications in your faithfulness;
answer me in your righteousness. - Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.

- Keep my steps steady according to your promise,

an alien, like all my forebears. - For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.
- Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.
- Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, make you complete in everything good so that you may do his will, working among us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
- For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen.
- Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God.
- Do not deprive one another except perhaps by agreement for a set time, to devote yourselves to prayer, and then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

- There is one lawgiver and judge who is able to save and to destroy. So who, then, are you to judge your neighbor?
- “Ananias,” Peter asked, “why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, were not the proceeds at your disposal? How is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You did not lie to us but to God!”
- The end of all things is near; therefore be serious and discipline yourselves for the sake of your prayers.
- When one will not listen to the law,
even one's prayers are an abomination. - Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven.
- Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
- They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
