- I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.
- By day the Lord commands his steadfast love,
and at night his song is with me,
a prayer to the God of my life. - For his anger is but for a moment;
his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may linger for the night,
but joy comes with the morning. - When goods increase, those who eat them increase; and what gain has their owner but to see them with his eyes?
- When you make a vow to God, do not delay fulfilling it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Fulfill what you vow.
- The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness. - Who has performed and done this,
calling the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord, am first,
and will be with the last. - Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear to my cry;
do not hold your peace at my tears.
For I am your passing guest,
an alien, like all my forebears.
