True love (4/4)

  • We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
  • And live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
  • When I thought, “My foot is slipping,”
    your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up.
  • Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly.
  • You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.
  • I made your name known to them, and I will make it known, so that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.
  • For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything; the only thing that counts is faith working through love.
  • How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
  • And hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.
  • Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
  • He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
  • God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him.
  • The Lord is merciful and gracious,
    slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
  • If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
  • Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who maintains covenant loyalty with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
  • But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.
  • If I give away all my possessions, and if I hand over my body so that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
  • O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    for his steadfast love endures forever.
  • He loves righteousness and justice;
    the earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord.
  • Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
  • For God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do.
  • But, as it is written,
    “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
    nor the human heart conceived,
    what God has prepared for those who love him”
  • For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
    abounding in steadfast love to all who call on you.
  • I love the Lord, because he has heard
    my voice and my supplications.
    Because he inclined his ear to me,
    therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
  • Shun youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

but the one who heeds admonition is prudent.
