Bible Verses about 'What'

  • Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
  • No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good,
and this is what he requires of you:
to do what is right, to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God.
  • The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?
  • Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.
  • And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
  • Then what will you think if you see the Son of Man ascend to heaven again?
  • What are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?
  • “Abba, Father,” he cried out, “everything is possible for you. Please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
  • And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
  • I praise God for what he has promised.
I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
What can mere mortals do to me?
  • The lips of the godly speak helpful words,
but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words.
  • That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?
  • What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
  • So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.
  • That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food to eat or enough clothes to wear. For life is more than food, and your body more than clothing.
  • So we can say with confidence,
    “The Lord is my helper,
so I will have no fear.
What can mere people do to me?”
  • Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
  • He reveals deep and mysterious things
and knows what lies hidden in darkness,
though he is surrounded by light.
  • Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not!
  • Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” And the soldiers gambled for his clothes by throwing dice.
  • I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown.
  • I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
  • And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much!
  • I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors,
for you have given me wisdom and strength.
You have told me what we asked of you
and revealed to us what the king demanded.
  • He replied, “What is impossible for people is possible with God.”

The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!
