- Sober up morally and stop sinning, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
- Righteousness exalts a nation,
But sin is a disgrace to any people. - I have treasured Your word in my heart,
So that I may not sin against You. - For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under the Law but under grace.
- For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.
- “Come now, and let us debate your case,”
Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are as scarlet,
They shall become as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They shall be like wool.” - But He was pierced for our offenses,
He was crushed for our wrongdoings;
The punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him,
And by His wounds we are healed. - I have not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.
- Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.
Stop doing evil. - I acknowledged my sin to You,
And I did not hide my guilt;
I said, “I will confess my wrongdoings to the Lord”;
And You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah - But if the wicked person turns from all his sins which he has committed and keeps all My statutes and practices justice and righteousness, he shall certainly live; he shall not die.
- The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright,
But ruin to the workers of injustice. - This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
- And do not go on presenting the parts of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and your body’s parts as instruments of righteousness for God.
- One who keeps the commandment keeps his soul,
But one who is careless of conduct will die. - Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin.
- I have wiped out your wrongdoings like a thick cloud
And your sins like a heavy mist.
Return to Me, for I have redeemed you. - Namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their wrongdoings against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
- Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves waist coverings.
- You lust and do not have, so you commit murder. And you are envious and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.
- In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
- When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away
Through my groaning all day long. - As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our wrongdoings from us. - Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us.
- For a day in Your courtyards is better than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God
Than live in the tents of wickedness.
