Sin (2/6)

Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good.Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old. Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.”Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.”
Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The name of the righteous is used in blessings, but the name of the wicked will rot.The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?
Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.
When anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned. When he realizes his guilt in any of these and confesses the sin he has committed, he shall bring to the Lord as his compensation for the sin that he has committed.
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more. For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.
“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame.Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.
Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.
The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.
Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues. When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.
If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible. If anyone sins, doing any of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, though he did not know it, then realizes his guilt, he shall bear his iniquity.
