Chinese (traditional)“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Praise Yahweh, my soul!
All that is within me, praise his holy name! But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. By this God’s love was revealed in us, that God has sent his only born Son into the world that we might live through him. One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone thinks that he is wise among you in this world, let him become a fool that he may become wise. Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them. But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling. But the free gift isn’t like the trespass. For if by the trespass of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. Let your beauty come not from the outward adorning of braiding your hair, and of wearing gold ornaments or of putting on fine clothing, but from the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight. Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that each person who belongs to God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. When pride comes, then comes shame,
but with humility comes wisdom. We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops. A fool’s lips come into strife,
and his mouth invites beatings. A man’s gift makes room for him,
and brings him before great men. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life? Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits. For of him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen. There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling. I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?’ Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse. Not rendering evil for evil or insult for insult; but instead blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and into the perseverance of Christ. By faith even Sarah herself received power to conceive, and she bore a child when she was past age, since she counted him faithful who had promised. Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. Pride only breeds quarrels,
but wisdom is with people who take advice. For even though the fig tree doesn’t flourish,
nor fruit be in the vines,
the labor of the olive fails,
the fields yield no food,
the flocks are cut off from the fold,
and there is no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in Yahweh.
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire. One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.Next verse! With image
