- Anyone who has received my commandments
and observes them
is the one who loves me.
And whoever loves me
will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him
and reveal myself to him. - We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet we know that a man is justified not by the works of the Law but through faith in Jesus Christ. So we too came to believe in Christ Jesus so that we might be justified by faith in him and not by the works of the Law, for no one will be justified by the works of the Law.
- I, the Lord, am your God. You must obey my laws and be careful to observe my ordinances. Keep holy my Sabbaths as a sign between me and you so that you will know that I am the Lord, your God.
- Does God give you the Spirit and work mighty deeds among you because you have kept the Law or because you believed what you have heard?
- Alleluia.
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in his precepts. - Keep in mind, therefore, that the Lord, your God, is God. He is a faithful God who keeps his covenant of mercy to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and observe his commandments.
- You shall observe my commandments and obey them. I am the Lord.
- But now the righteousness of God that is attested by the Law and the Prophets has been manifested apart from law: the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. No distinction has been made.
- The second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
- Therefore, whoever breaks even one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be considered least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever observes these commandments and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
- You shall take heed to observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, and the decrees and statutes that he has given to you.
- Every word you utter is true,
and all your righteous judgments are everlasting. - When someone sins and does any of the things that the Lord has forbidden, even if he does not realize he did it, he has still committed an offense and must bear his guilt.
- You will not add to what I command you, nor will you take away from it, so that you might observe the commandments of the Lord, your God, that I am giving you.
- Hear, O Israel, the Lord, our God, is Lord alone. You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
- If you keep my commandments,
you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love. - Your statutes are my everlasting heritage;
they are the very joy of my heart. - Those of you who seek to be justified by the Law have cut yourselves off from Christ and have fallen away from grace.
- For from the beginning
you have heard the message
that we should love one another. - The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the upright,
but destruction for evildoers. - I will put my Spirit in you and make you follow my statutes and my ordinances.
- Never will I forget your commands,
for through them you have given me life. - As we proceed in the path of your judgments,
we wait for you, O Lord;
your name and your renown
are all that our heart desires. - I rejoice in following your statutes
more than I would rejoice in endless riches. - We have sinned and done what is wrong, we have acted wickedly and rebelled, we have rejected your commandments and your laws.
