- You need to be steadfast if you want to do the will of God and receive what he has promised.
- To do your will, O God, is my delight;
your law is in my heart. - Those who live according to the flesh fix their attention on the things of the flesh, while those who live according to the Spirit set their thoughts on spiritual things.
- What I commanded them was this: Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. If you follow all the ways that I command you, then you will prosper.
- When anyone turns a deaf ear to the law,
even his prayer is detestable. - However, whoever lives by the truth
comes to the light
so that it may be clearly seen
that his deeds have been done in God. - I am the true vine,
and my Father is the vinegrower.
He removes every branch
that does not bear fruit,
and every branch that does
he prunes to make it bear even more. - The Lord commanded us to observe all of these statutes and to fear the Lord, our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, even as we are today.
- To those who seek after glory and honor and immortality by persevering in good works, he will grant eternal life.
- The people said to Joshua, “We will serve the Lord, our God, and obey his voice.”
