Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? | Which one of you, intending to build a tower, would not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has sufficient funds for its completion? |

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. | For I know full well the plans I have for you, plans for your welfare and not for your misfortune, plans that will offer you a future filled with hope. |
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. | A man may plan his own course, but the Lord makes his steps secure. |
May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. | May he give you your heart’s desire and grant you success in all your plans. |
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. | Plans miscarry when counsel is lacking, but they succeed when there are many counselors. |

These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. | However, God has revealed these things to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit explores everything, even the depths of God. |
Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. | Indeed, the Lord God does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants, the prophets. |
Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways. For the Lord detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence. | Do not envy a violent man or choose to emulate any of his ways. For the perverse man is an abomination to the Lord whose friendship is bestowed only upon the upright. |
