Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. | Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. |
Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? | For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it? |

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. | “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.” |
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. | A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps. |
May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. | May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your counsel. |
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. | Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established. |
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. | There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail. |
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. | Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you. |
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. | For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven. |
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. | “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways,” says Yahweh. |
Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. | Don’t weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint. |
Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. | So teach us to count our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. |
As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. | For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. |
All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent. | This also comes out from Yahweh of Armies, who is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in wisdom. |
These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. | But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. |
Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. | Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets. |
Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways. For the Lord detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence. | Don’t envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways. For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright. |
