For the Lord loves the just, and he will not forsake his faithful ones. Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Rather, always aim to achieve what is best for each other and for everyone. | See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. |

And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who are peacemakers. | Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. |
For the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to the entire human race. It teaches us to reject godless ways and worldly desires, and in the present age to lead lives that are temperate, just, and godly. | For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age. |
Commit your way to the Lord; place your trust in him, and he will act. He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, and the justice of your cause, like the noonday. | Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. It is rash to pledge a sacred gift, or to make a vow and then have second thoughts. | It is a snare for a man to devote rashly something as holy, And afterward to reconsider his vows. |
