- Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
- Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
- Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
- Wash you, make you clean;
put away the evil of your doings
from before mine eyes;
cease to do evil. - The fear of the Lord is to hate evil:
pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,
and the froward mouth, do I hate. - Depart from evil, and do good;
seek peace, and pursue it. - Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.
- A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
- Keep thy tongue from evil,
and thy lips from speaking guile. - See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
- Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
- Turn not to the right hand nor to the left:
remove thy foot from evil. - It is an honour for a man to cease from strife:
but every fool will be meddling. - Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
- Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
- But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
- Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil:
but to the counsellors of peace is joy. - And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. - But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
- For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
- I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
- Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord.
- The face of the Lord is against them that do evil,
to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. - Seek good, and not evil,
that ye may live:
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you,
as ye have spoken. - For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
Ye that love the Lord, hate evil:
he preserveth the souls of his saints;
he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.A fool despiseth his father's instruction:
but he that regardeth reproof is prudent. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.Next verse!With image
