- You shall not kill. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness. Honor your father and your mother. Love your neighbor as yourself.
- For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.

- And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do as much.

if he closes his lips, he is regarded as intelligent. - For ‘In him we live and move and have our being.’ As even your own poets have said, ‘We are all his offspring.’
- You shall not hate your brother in your heart, nor shall you rebuke your brother in any way, lest you bear sin because of him. You shall not seek vengeance nor bear a grudge against the children of your people. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
- When anyone turns a deaf ear to the law,
even his prayer is detestable. - Yet even now, says the Lord,
return to me with all your heart,

- A word is not even on my tongue
and you, O Lord, are completely aware of it. - You believe that there is one God. You do well to assert that. But even the demons believe and tremble.
- Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as if you were doing it for the Lord and not for others, since you know that you will receive from the Lord an inheritance as your reward for you are serving the Lord Christ.
- But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Your almsgiving must be done in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.
- Take no part in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather seek to expose them.
For it is shameful even to speak of what deeds people do in secret. - Bear with one another, and forgive one another if anyone has reason to be offended with another. You must forgive just as the Lord has forgiven you.
- Rather, be kind to one another and compassionate, and forgive one another as God has forgiven you in Christ.
